Some things just go together: peanut butter and jelly, cookies and cocoa, and of course, Elvis and Christmas.
But how did music from the King become synonymous with the holiday season—and how can you and your family rock around the Christmas tree this year?
The Making of a Tradition
In 1957, Elvis Presley released his fourth studio album, Elvis’ Christmas Album. The record became an instant classic, featuring beloved carols like “White Christmas” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” It also included his cover of “Blue Christmas,” which is still one of the most cherished modern Christmas hits.
Elvis’ take on Christmas music was so memorable that today, the record remains one of the top-selling Christmas albums of all time—and a staple at any Christmas party.
And while the King himself may not be around to serenade you and your family this holiday season, Swinomish Casino & Lodge will have the next best thing: A family-friendly Christmas event you won’t want to miss, featuring the music of Elvis as performed by Danny Vernon!
